Technology for Good movements are driving change toward more sustainable and inclusive options. The Data for Good and AI for Social Good movements are tackling social, environmental and public health issues. Many of the goals, initiative and projects are important for Social Determinants of Health.
As defined by Gartner, Data for Good is “a movement in which people and organizations transcend organizational boundaries to use data to improve society.” Organizations like DataKind are focused on making it easy for data scientists to contribute their knowledge and expertise to good causes. The organization’s mission is to bring “high-impact organizations together with leading data scientists to use data science in the service of humanity.”
The AI for Social Good movement is focused on delivering positive social impact in accordance with the priorities in the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Organizations like AI for Good bring together interdisciplinary researchers, nonprofits, governments, and corporate actors to develop solutions that engender positive change supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
A number of initiatives and organizations are helping to set the agenda and strategies for the AI for the Social Good movement. These include:
